ARCHITECT AND INTERIOR DESIGNER
CH'UP
Inspired by the idea to pay tribute to Mexican women, through its shape it represents their strong identity. The material I have chosen for the design and manufacturing of this piece is aluminum, thanks to its elastic properties it made it possible to capture some qualities of Mexican women such as strength and sensibility, expressed by the thin thickness of its contour.
An important element of the design is the curve of the back of chair, that grants great comfort when seated.
The manufacturing technology was an authentic artisanal craftsmanship with high experience in aluminum cutting, curving and welding.
SHOWED AT MUSEO TAMAYO IN
MEXICO CITY, FOR THE DESIGN WEEK 2018
The color chosen to create the first model, is a tone that complemented the design filling it with expressiveness.
The chair can be completed with different finishing options to get several opacity or shining reflects and colors.
Ch'up is an element with very clean shape and lines, the right balance between functionality and artwork.
A chair that can find a proper place in different interiors styles adding to your room an useful element with strong contemporary personality.
